JET 14 Inch Steel Frame Bandsaw

NEW JET 14-INCH SEEL FRAME BANDSAW HAS BIG CUTTING CAPACITY, TWO-POSITION FENCE

LaVergne, TN – The new JET® 14” Steel Frame Bandsaw is loaded with big-saw capabilities, features and durability usually found on high-end machines in commercial woodworking shops.  It has larger-than-average resaw and rip capacities, fully adjustable fence, tool-less blade guide adjustment, heavy-duty blade tensioning with quick release and rugged steel frame construction.

“The new JET 14” Steel Frame Bandsaw has a full 13½” of resaw height, as well as 13½” of blade-to-frame cutting width,” said Joan Duvall, JET’s Director of Product Management - Wood.  “This versatile bandsaw provides an ideal blend of high performance, innovative features, solid construction and ease of use. It’s a smart choice for small to mid-sized woodworking shops, as well as serious enthusiasts.”

This floor-standing bandsaw weighs 356 lbs.  Its rugged steel frame and wide base provide rigidity for smooth, stable operation and accurate cutting.  The saw’s overall dimensions are 30”L x 26”W x 74-1/2”H.

The 14” bandsaw is driven by a 1¾ hp, single-phase, 115/230V motor, which is prewired for 115V service.  Power is transmitted to the drive pulley system via a durable poly-V belt, delivering a blade speed of 3000 SFPM.

The bandsaw’s 21½” x 16” cast iron table is set at 39” from the floor, and is precisely ground to assure flatness.  The table tilts 0-45o to the right and 0-10o left, providing support for a wide range of bevel cuts.  A cast iron handwheel and large, easy-to-read scale are used to set the desired table angle.  A standard miter slot is provided to accommodate a miter gauge (optional accessory), as well as jigs and fixtures for specific projects.

An extruded aluminum fence measures 18-1/4”L x 6”H and slides on a steel guide rail.  The two-position fence can be used flat for inlays and furring strips or upright for crown molding and other materials.  The fence is fully adjustable with a laser-etched scale and micro-adjust feature.

Cast iron, nine-spoke, upper and lower blade wheels are precisely machined and computer balanced to reduce vibration and ensure accurate blade tracking.  They feature shallow crowns and polyurethane tires.  The wheels accommodate 125”-long blades, ranging from 1/8” to 3/4” wide.

The JET 14” bandsaw enables precise blade tension adjustments by turning a handwheel and setting a tensioning scale.  A handy blade tension release is included for making blade changes and relaxing the blade when not in use.  The blade can be easily removed from the front of the table.

A heavy-duty guide post with rack-and-pinion adjustment provides solid blade support.  Upper and lower, ball-bearing blade guides are independently adjustable and tool-free.  The saw also is equipped with four-sided blade guards.

Two 4”-diameter dust ports are located on the back of the bandsaw below the table and at the base.  They connect with a dust collection system and require a minimum capacity of 400 CFM.

The JET 14” Steel Frame Bandsaw is covered by a 5-year warranty, as well as JET’s RED AssuranceTM, the industry’s most dependable service and support guarantee program.

The JET 14” Steel Frame Bandsaw (#714500, $1,899.99) is expected to be available in August.  To locate a dealer, visit www.jettools.com.
